Dialogue, Mediation & Peace Support Structures
Marike Blunck joined the Berghof team as Project Manager in the Dialogue, Mediation and Peace Support Structures program. Her focus is on the development of a praxis-oriented National Dialogue Handbook and supporting an action research project on Insider Peacebuilders in South- and South East Asia.
During a short research stay with the Berghof Foundation in 2012/13, funded by the Mercator Foundation, she looked into Insider Peacebuilders and the political and security situation in Nepal. She then went to UNDP’s Conflict Prevention Program in Nepal as a consultant, where she mainly worked on local dialogue processes. Most recently, she coordinated the Civil Peace Service projects in Myanmar and Nepal for the German NGO KURVE Wustrow.
Marike is currently training to become a certified mediator. She also holds a Master degree in “Violence, Conflict and Development” from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), London, and a Bachelor degree in International Relations from Sussex University, Brighton.
