Omar Belhajsalah supports the implementation of Berghof Foundation’s projects on the transition processes in the MENA region.

Prior to joining Berghof, Omar worked as a research intern for Democracy Reporting International and for the German Institute for International and Security Affairs on projects related to the Democratic Transition in Tunisia.

He has authored several analytical articles and reports on the transformations affecting the Arab-speaking world since early 2011 published with Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, Foreign Policy Magazine, Open Democracy and the Middle East Eye.

Omar has a Bachelor Degree in Literature from University of Manouba, Tunisia Masters of Arts –in European and International Affairs, from the European Institute in France and he has studied Politics and History as an exchange student at the Free University in Germany.
