Second Consultation Meeting on a National Dialogue Process in Yemen

“Managing Diversity: Mechanisms for the Southern Movement of Yemen to engage in Political Dialogue”

In cooperation with the Political Development Forum (PDF) of Yemen, the Berghof Foundation organised an informal consultation meeting in Jordan (26-28 May 2012). It provided a forum for high-level leaders from the Southern Movement of Yemen concerning South-South consultations and National Dialogues about the future political system in Yemen. The meeting did not aim to integrate the different perspectives of the Southern Movement into one united position, but was based on the premise of accepting diversity – and explored mechanisms to manage diversity.

The Meeting was supported by the German Foreign Ministry. The Lebanese Common Space Initiative (CSI), UN ESCWA, and the German Friedrich Ebert Foundation (FES) collaborated in this endeavor.
