Nina Bernarding works as Project Manager in the Africa Programme. She manages the Horn of Africa Dialogue initiative, which in cooperation with the African Union supports the establishment of increased political dialogue and regional cooperation between key actors of the Horn of Africa region. Previously she worked as Project Assistant in the Dialogue, Mediation and Peace Support Structures Programme, supporting the Cyprus Security Dialogue Project and the development of the National Dialogue Handbook.
During the Mercator Fellowship on International Affairs she worked for the Bonn International Center for Conversion, UNDP Sudan and Conciliation Resources. Previously she worked with GIZ in Ethiopia and the UN Department of Peacekeeping Operations in New York City. Nina holds a Master degree in Conflict, Security and Development from King’s College London and a Bachelor degree in History and Political Science from Heidelberg University.
