New Article on European Security Order

Hans J. Giessmann published an analysis on the current challenges to the European peace order. In his contribution he names causes and actors responsible for the failure of the 1990 OSCE Paris Charter. The essay explains the risks to Europe and the world posed by a renewed conflict between East and West and cautions against the observable propensity to surrender to an “increasing trend of populism and opportunism as a bench mark for political decision-making regarding essential questions in foreign and security policy”. The contribution forms part of the edited volume “Europe and the New World Order. Analyses and Opinions on European Foreign and Security Policy” published by the Heinrich Böll Foundation.
