“Between a rock and a hard place” examines Nepal’s political landscape following recent elections to the second Constituent Assembly (CA). The Policy Brief evaluates effects on the country’s peace and conflict context, both in the short- and long-term and formulates recommendations for policy-makers at the international and national level. The findings are based on a range of interviews with representatives of civil society, political parties, government ministries, academia, international organisations and embassies in Nepal.
This paper is part of our Policy Brief series, a short format that is published online only. Berghof Policy Briefs comment on conflict-related political issues and events, with a focus on policy recommendations for political decision-makers, opinion-formers and influential civil society actors.
