Dealing with Guatemala's Violent Past: Advice and Capacity-Building for Historic Memory

The Berghof Foundation supported institutions mandated to deal with Guatemala’s violent past. After becoming involved in the National Reparations Programme, we supported a range of activities implemented by non-state actors, most prominently, the initiative for a virtual museum of historic memory. The museum helps Guatemala’s younger generations to understand the 30 years of armed conflict and to discuss the violent present.
