On Thursday, September 10th, the third “Biographical Salon” titled “Abkhaz students during the war” took place. The guest, historian Aslan Avidzba, had been a student in Sukhum/i and was recruited there during the war for military service. Impressively he described the difficulties, caused by the lack of military training and proper equipment, he and his fellow students had to deal with. It became clear, that this time greatly influenced himself and his generation. Moderator Mramza Djikirba led through the discussion with great sensitivity.
The audience, consisting of his former fellow students and also today’s students, engaged vividly in the discussion. Several topics were discussed controversially, such as the role of patriotism in the Abkhaz society.
