CCI has analysed the obstacles and perspectives for conflict transformation in Macedonia. They assessed the attitudes of young people in a 12 months project that gathered youth in “circles of trust”, concluding that only a minor part of the young population is of the opinion that the conflict has been transformed. Both, in the Slavic Macedonian and in the Albanian community a relevant percentage of young people feel either threatened in their identity by the “others”, see the conflict protracted or enshrined in the legal and political system, or perceive a risk of its escalation.
