Conflict Transformation Research
Maira Kuppers works for the Conflict Transformation and Research (CTR) team, partially as a Research Fellow on systemic conflict transformation and partially for the internal Innovation and Impact HUB.
Prior joining the Berghof Foundation, Maira has worked as a peace practitioner in Afghanistan for five years, working for the United Nations Assistance Mission to Afghanistan and smaller Afghan research organizations. During her work there she focused on building structures that increase the opportunities for inclusivity in the Afghan peace process and on subnational governance and state building.
Maira holds an MA in Conflict Resolution in Divided Societies from King’s College London and a BA of Liberal Arts from University College Maastricht. Before joining the CTR team, Maira has been a Kathryn Davis Fellow for Peace at the University of Middlebury in the Arabic Studies Department.
