Martin Wählisch is an associate of our MENA Programme and is currently serving as a Political Affairs Officer in the Office of the Special Coordinator for Lebanon (UNSCOL). He previously worked in our National Dialogue Support Programme in Yemen and our collaborative Berghof/UNDP Lebanon National Dialogue Support Project.

He is a lawyer, specialized in international law, human rights and constitutional law. He earned his PhD on peace agreements and power-sharing from the Humboldt University of Berlin, and holds a post-graduate degree in Mediation.

He is also a lecturer at the Center for Peace Mediation (European University Viadrina) and an affiliated scholar at the Issam Fares Institute for Public Policy and International Affairs (American University of Beirut).
