New Occasional Paper on Norms and Premises of Peace Governance

Berghof Occasional Paper No. 32 “Norms and Premises of Peace Governance: Socio-Cultural Commonalities and Differences in Europe and India” has recently been published. This paper is based on research carried out for a project entitled “The role of Governance in the Resolution of Socioeconomic and Political Conflict in India and Europe (CORE)”. It is funded by the Socio-economic Sciences & Humanities in the European Community‘s Seventh Framework Programme (FP7/2007-2013) under grant agreement n° 266931.

The Occasional Paper comprises the preparatory papers and contributions for a thematic workshop on “Socio-Cultural and Political Premises of European and Indian Initiatives in Areas of Conflict Transition and Conflict Resolution” organised by the Berghof Foundation (then Berghof Conflict Research) in Berlin last summer.

The participants’ presentations on certain questions formed the content of this Occasional Paper. Credits go to all individual contributors and the organising team of the Berghof Foundation. However, special thanks go to Janel B. Galvanek and Mir Mubashir, supported by Amy Hunter and Stina Lundström, for their project coordination and editorial support.
